Mercer Lioness 2011 Car Wash is Huge Success

The Mercer Lioness Car Wash has been a community fundraiser for over thirty years, and for more than half of that time, it has been a formal car wash.  Every July, Lioness members bring out their formal wear and set up in the parking lot of the Anchor Inn restaurant.  This year was no different as Co-Chairmen Jeanne Koleno and Rita Wellman led their group as they washed twenty-nine trucks and 6 cars on Saturday, July 17 from 9 to noon.   For thirteen years, County Clerk Michael Saari has given of his time at the car wash to benefit Angel on My Shoulder, a group that reaches out to the cancer-affected camp for kids.  Angel on My shoulder is a non-profit cancer support foundation located in St. Germain.
Lion Dave Minisan stood near the entrance and encouraged passers-by to have their cars washed and join in on the fun. 

A special thank you to Clerk Saari, Lion Dave and the Anchor Inn for their support of this annual worthwhile cause.
